WHO WE ARE
Keeping Physics Fun!
The Oregon Chapter of the American Association of Physics Teachers (ORAAPT) is a community of physics educators from around the state. We are affiliated with the national organization American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT). We bring educators together to share best practices in teaching, host workshops, share demonstrations, and preview the latest in laboratory equipment. What makes us unique is a passion for keeping physics fun and engaging for all students.
Past, Present and Future Meetings of the Oregon American Association of Physics Teachers Meetings take place every 2nd Saturday of March and 3rd Saturday of October
TEACHING IN THE TIME OF COVID-19
We have the experience of spring teaching behind us and the summer to prepare for hybrid teaching, distance learning, or in some places, in classroom teaching. We look forward to sharing what has worked and what hasn't worked teaching physics during a global pandemic. As part of our next meeting, we will be reaching out to gather a compendium of the best resources you have found to adapt to teaching during COVID-19.
INVOLVEMENT IN AAPT
Our new section rep for the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) is Evan Thatcher. Evan attended the winter national meeting in January. We are looking forward to hosting the next winter meeting in Portland in 2021.
